Rod is a journalist of more than 30 years' experience with a passion for podcasting (and golf) that started long before podcasts were even a thing.
In the early 2000's, after hearing an audio clip on a webpage for the first time, he became intrigued by the idea of broadcasting via the World Wide Web.
In 2001 TalkinGolf was born. A weekly golf 'radio' show available exclusively on line, it was a marvel of mastering the technology of the time and, while a successful project, was clearly ahead of its time.
In 2006 TalkinGolf went on a lengthy hiatus but in 2012 Rod came back to the world of podcasting with the launch of the popular State of the Game podcast. He has since launched two new shows, the iSeekGolf Podcast and the TalkinGolf History podcast, and continues to add to the resume.
While golf remains his greatest passion, podcasting in all its forms runs a very close second and the opening of Sydney Podcast Studios and the Sydney Podcast School mark an exciting new direction in the ever changing world of digital media.
"Nothing is more satisfying than watching somebody realise the opportunity to indulge their passion through the powerful medium that is podcasting," he says.
"That look on the face of a podcaster as they hear their voice going out to the world for the first time.... it's priceless. And frankly, it never gets old."
